PeopleTec is currently seeking a Software Engineer to support the S3I Strategic Targets Lab in Huntsville, AL location.

Candidate will perform integration of delivered flight software (C/C++) into an internally developed 6-degrees of freedom (6-DOF) simulation; Develop custom implementations of message sets to drive flight software using hardware ICDS; Assist multi-discipline teams in the design of simulation architecture towards improving workflows; and Support Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities. Candidate will be asked to provide expert opinions on software designs and implementations. This role requires a self-starter that can quickly begin contributing towards the success of the team. Good communication skills are a must. Candidate will be asked to present software analysis findings and considerations at team hosted data reviews. Candidate will be viewed as a software development expert within the team and will routinely be asked to provide input to the team related to internal development. Candidate must be a team player that will assist other team members as needed with software related issues. Candidate will be required to review and provide feedback on Software Requirements Specification documents. Candidate will be asked to review and assess building configurations used for producing flight hardware compatible with software.


Required Skills/Experience:

  • 8-10 Years Software/Systems Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of C/C++ programming languages
  • Extensive knowledge of software engineering practices
  • Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between. hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.
  • May coordinate installation of software system.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Candidate must hold a U.S. DoD Secret Security clearance upon hire, and have the ability to maintain this clearance level during their employment.


Educational Requirements:

A completed Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field is required.


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with real-time embedded systems software.
  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) - Experience with 6DOF Simulations - Experience interfacing C/C++ code with FORTRAN - Experience with Git and Jira
  • Windows 10 Certification
