PeopleTec is currently seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

The Sensors Test Analysis Requirements Simulation (STARS) team to enhance our support of the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) sensor systems. This position requires a details oriented individual who will perform a variety of tasks including radar operation, using raw radar data and analyzing radar performance from flight and ground tests. The ideal candidate will have hands-on radar experience with one of the 5 radars from the Sensors Directorate portfolio (AN/TPY-2, SBX, UEWR, Cobra Dane, or LRDR) and have a good understanding of systems engineering processes, missile defense architectures and weapon systems, and Air and Missile Defense radar applications. The candidate should be capable of executing documented test and analysis procedures on a demanding schedule and should be a self-started who can work with minimal supervision. The position will include collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual contributions to produce products that are valuable to the customer.


Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of eight years experience in progressively complex systems design including hardware/software integration of complex system.
  • Requires a thorough understanding of validation concepts and techniques.
  • Must be familiar with the overall BMDS and have some detailed knowledge of some element of the BMDS.
  • Detailed understanding of how the radars operation and have experience with radar manipulation and analysis. 
  • Must have good people skills * Must be an excellent communicator with a desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers.
  • Candidate must be able to interact effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds including government and external industry personnel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is required.
  • Travel:5%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.


Education Requirements:

A completed Bachelor's Degree in a related field (such as Information Systems, Engineering, etc.), or equivalent experience.  Master's Degree preferred. 


Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of radar signal injectors. 
  • Familiarity with MATLAB or similar analysis tools.
